Initiatives for Awareness and Sustainability

Impact on local communities

We actively contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of the areas of Greece where we operate, applying the Creating Shared Value (CSV) model, finding new business opportunities, solving social issues and being competitive while creating long-term sustainable value.

Numerous actions and best practices have been implemented at the plant to minimize environmental impact and maximize performance, generating economic and social benefits for local communities.

We use drones to perform plant inspections at the farm, saving time, increasing accuracy and efficiency, and eliminating risks to workers. In this way, we are also able to carry out studies to minimize the plant’s environmental impact on biodiversity in the surrounding area.

Educational Initiatives in Martino

With the Energy on the Go program, which began in 2014 and is implemented with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports, we bring energy closer to the new generation, through experience, knowledge and open dialogue. To fulfil this goal, we organize visits of students to our Wind Farms, so that children and young people can get to know the world of Renewable Sources and learn more about the operation of our projects.

We welcomed and guided over 40 students from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens to the Martino Wind Farm, so that we could talk to them about the professional opportunities offered by the energy sector. We also implemented an important initiative, welcoming young men and women from the Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory in Lamia to the park, teaching them modern technologies in an experiential and entertaining way.

We also hosted the children’s show “Discovering the World” of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), in a special episode dedicated to wind energy. Combining learning with entertainment, we explored the world of wind energy with the young viewers, in a way that promotes imagination and curiosity. You may view the full episode here.
