Jointly owned by Enel SpA and funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management, we operate a diverse portfolio of assets, encompassing wind, solar, hydroelectric energy projects, as well as battery energy storage systems.
Established in 2008 as part of Enel Green Power in Greece, we have evolved into an independent entity, owning 71 plants in operation with a total installed capacity of 775.32 MW. We are actively expanding our footprint, with another 5.27 GW under various stages of development.
Our headquarters are located in Marousi, Attica, and we employ 140 people in various fields.

Empowering a Sustainable Tomorrow
Enel Green Power Hellas is established, aiming at the development and production of energy from renewable sources. The company is a subsidiary of Enel, the multinational group for electricity generation and distribution, beginning its activities in Greece with the acquisition of projects in operation (83 MW) and under construction (43 MW).
Having already 141 MW of wind energy in operation, the company adds solar projects to its portfolio, with the acquisition of 7 parks.
The company adds to its portfolio 23 more solar projects (in operation and under construction), with a total capacity of 64 MW. At the end of 2013, the total installed capacity of the company’s projects exceeded 306 MW.
Kafireas, the largest wind project in operation in Greece, consisting of 8 wind farms with 73 wind turbines and a total installed capacity of more than 167.9 MW, is inaugurated.
Enel Green Power Hellas is ranked first in the Great Place to Work list, as the Best Workplace in Greece.
The solar park of Vamvakies begins operation. At the same time, the educational program Vamvakies a Social Green Project starts in Kozani, focusing on agrivoltaics, innovation and entrepreneurship, and receiving major honorary distinctions.
Construction of the company’s new solar cluster, Perasma, begins. The cluster, which is located in the wider Kozani area and consists of 7 parks, with a total installed capacity of 95 MW, begins operation in 2024.
The sale of 50% of Enel Green Power Hellas by Enel SpA to funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management is completed. The two companies proceed with the creation of a new joint venture.
Principia is founded, with Enel SpA and funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management as major shareholders. Principia’s mission is to accelerate the country’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
In April, Principia’s first Sustainability Report, concerning 2024, is published.
In May, the Perasma Solar Cluster, with an installed capacity of 95MW, is inaugurated in Kozani.
In October, construction of the company’s first BESS project, with an installed capacity of 49MW, in Chalkidiki, is completed.
In January, we strengthen our portfolio with four operating wind farms with a total capacity of 150.2 MW from EDP Renováveis (EDPR) in Greece, with an estimated value exceeding €200 million.
In March, Principia is included in the Financial Times list, compiled in collaboration with Statista, titled: “FT1000: Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2026”.
In April, the electrification of Themelio, our first Battery Energy Storage System, is completed.
