"Green" initiatives and important projects that change the country's energy landscape
In the midst of the energy crisis as well as the significant geopolitical turbulence in Europe, the decarbonization of the energy mix is a one-way street for Greece and the European Union. The effects of the crisis we are experiencing are already visible, bringing unbearable price increases and painful consequences for households, industries and the growth prospects of the economy.
For this reason, the transition process to indigenous renewable energy sources needs to be accelerated. In the above landscape, our country has the opportunity to exploit its comparative advantages. With the sun and wind in abundance, Greece has the opportunity to become energy independent and forge its own path in the use of RES, setting an example for the whole of Europe.
A greener future
In compliance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we facilitate the smooth energy transition of businesses to a zero-emission economy, utilizing RES. At the same time, we offer reliable, competitive, customized energy solutions from RES, helping companies to exploit business opportunities and draw financial resources from European funds.
The availability of RES and their price is not affected by geopolitical tensions or other exogenous factors and their penetration into the energy mix is increasing. In addition, thanks to reduced technology costs and increased demand due to decarbonisation, over the next 10 years, 70% of new installed capacity will come exclusively from wind and solar parks; By 2050, 50% of electricity will be generated from wind and solar power.
Sustainable development with targeted initiatives
At Principia, we invest in the sustainable development of local communities and economies, with absolute respect for the environment. Committed to our commitment to create mutual value with local communities, we promote innovative partnerships, the cultivation of relationships of trust and honest dialogue with the residents of the areas where we operate, actively supporting their transition to cleaner forms of energy, for a cleaner future and greener.
We implement, throughout Greece, actions for the sustainable development of local communities, aiming at creating mutual value. Individual actions throughout the country range from extensive reforestation and development of alternative forms of tourism to modern educational programs and support for communities and local producers.
Improving grid usage and production through new technologies
How adequate and stable will the grid be exclusively with RES? Hybridization, i.e. the combination of different technologies, is an important solution for achieving safe and stable integration of RES into the energy mix, increasing the reliability of the system. Through hybridization, grid use is optimised as the utilisation rate increases, the stochasticity of renewables decreases, and consequently projects can be controlled and allocated accordingly.
In the midst of the energy crisis that Greece and Europe are experiencing, the production of energy from RES is a one-way street for businesses. Utilizing the know-how, innovation, extensive experience, but also the scientific and technological training of our people, we prove that RES can be a key component of the country's and the planet's energy mix, ensuring sustainable development and a smooth energy transition for local communities and businesses.
