- 7 integrated actions of social and environmental contribution were carried out, exceeding 650 hours of voluntary work in total.
On the occasion of International Volunteer Day (5/12), Principia organized Community Week for one more year, as part of the multi-award-winning corporate volunteer program “Be The Hero”. The aim of the initiative was to actively support social groups and organizations, while strengthening environmental care activities in local communities.
Social and Environmental Contribution Actions
Between December 1st and 9th, Principia employees participated in a comprehensive series of initiatives in collaboration with bodies and organizations throughout Greece:
- Blood Donation & “Agios Savvas”: A voluntary blood donation was carried out in collaboration with the “Agios Savvas” General Anti-Cancer-Oncology Hospital, supporting the company’s Blood Bank with 23 bottles of blood.
- “Margarita” Special Education Workshop: Creation of Christmas gifts, ornaments and paintings together with the children of the center, which will be made available at the organization’s Christmas bazaar to support its therapeutic programs.
- Athens Home for the Elderly: Painting and aesthetic upgrade of over 500 sq m. of elderly living spaces.
- "Trees4Greece": Planting over 100 slow-burning trees at the foot of Mount Hymettus, ensuring their care for the coming years with the support of the Municipality of Vyronas.
- "Boroume sti Laiki": Collection of 430 kilos of usable surplus fruits and vegetables, corresponding to 1,290 food portions, at the Ampelokipi farmers' market, with the aim of promoting them to beneficiaries of the Reception and Solidarity Center of the Municipality of Athens, contributing to the fight against food waste.
- "SOS Children's Village Thrace" (Alexandroupolis): Painting and aesthetic upgrade of the structure's external walls, as well as donation of sports equipment, including a professional-sized basketball.
- "Kivotos" (Kozani): Maintenance of the original wooden playground that was constructed in 2024 in the outdoor area of the "Kivotos" Center for Recovery - Rehabilitation, Day Care, and Day Care for People with Disabilities.
Through these integrated actions, Principia stood by vulnerable groups, strengthened structures that perform important work, and protected the natural environment.
Practical, lasting impact
Community Week once again demonstrated the power of teamwork and collective mobilization. With over 650 hours of volunteer work, our people supported social structures, helped reduce food waste, upgraded basic infrastructure for the elderly and children, and contributed to environmental restoration actions. It was a week full of meaningful work, empathy, and real connection to society.
