Principia actively supports the work of the Hellenic Fire Service, providing a series of free educational information seminars on the topic: "Ways to deal with fire in Renewable Energy Plants", thus contributing to the readiness and training of its executives.
The first cycle of educational informative seminars was successfully completed in four regions of Greece: Kozani (April 2023), Ptolemaida (December 2023 at the Cadet School of the Fire Academy), Grevena (March 2024) and Chalkidiki (May 2024). The seminars were attended by 250 Firefighters from the Hellenic Fire Service and 300 Cadets from the Fire Academy Schools, in order to inform them about safety issues and how to deal with a fire in a solar park.
The duration of each seminar was two hours and was carried out by experienced and trained Principia personnel. During the seminar, the participants were informed about the structure of a RES energy production park, its operation mode and the Low and Medium Voltage equipment, while the electrical hazards, the protection measures and finally the fire scenarios with the necessary response actions were presented. by visiting nearby solar parks, so that participants can see the facilities and the proposed safety and firefighting measures.
Principia's contribution to the Hellenic Fire Service spans across years, with another typical example being the joint Preparedness Exercise with the 4th Special Disaster Response Unit (4th E.M.A.K.) in October 2022, which was conducted at a wind turbine in Rodopi.
The company will remain a supporter of the Hellenic Fire Service, aiding in its difficult and crucial work.
