First Aid Seminars: A life-saving training

We organized first aid seminars for all our employees, offering knowledge that can save lives.

According to the European Resuscitation Council, every year 350,000 people go into cardiac arrest out-of-hospital in Europe, but only 10% survive. Immediate reaction from bystanders can change this outcome: in case of cardiac arrest, early implementation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) It can double or even triple the chances of survival, especially if it starts within the first 3 to 5 minutes.

Knowledge of first aid can be crucial in emergencies, as a sudden medical incident can happen anywhere, even in the workplace. That's why we organized first aid seminars for all our employees, enabling them to acquire critical skills that can save lives.

Training in methods of resuscitation

During the seminars, participants were trained in basic first aid techniques, such as checking vital signs and applying cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which keeps a person alive until specialized medical help arrives. In addition, they practiced the correct use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED), a tool that can restore heart function in the event of cardiac arrest, and increases the chances of survival by 90% if used within the first minute. Finally, training was conducted in the management of choking incidents, using methods such as the Heimlich maneuver.

The seminars were conducted by specialized professionals in the field of first aid of the Elite Special Missions Team, who offered not only theoretical knowledge and guidance, but also practice. Our employees had the opportunity to apply the techniques they learned in simulations of real situations with the use of plastic busts, which enhanced their confidence and their ability to react calmly and effectively in a time of need, whether in their personal or professional lives.

We cultivate a culture of safety

With this initiative, we managed to enhance safety in our workplace and cultivate a climate of cooperation and responsibility. Knowledge of first aid is not only a useful skill, but an act of care towards our colleagues and the people around us. When prepared, we can respond quickly and effectively, saving valuable time – and potentially a life.

First aid training is a worthwhile investment. At Principia, we are committed to continuing to promote prevention and safety, because we believe that a safe working environment is fundamental to everyone's well-being. This commitment is demonstrated by our awards as a leading Renewable Energy Company in Health and Safety issues,  but also our cooperation with the Hellenic Fire Brigade for a series of training seminars.
