The "Perasma" Solar Cluster in Kozani is another milestone project for the lignite phase-out of Greece, enhancing the country's energy transition to clean energy forms. The project is located near the villages of Mavrodendri and Sideras, at an altitude of up to 750 meters, and consists of 7 solar parks with a total installed capacity of 95MW.

A passage to tomorrow

The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday, May 22, in the presence of representatives of the Local Government and civil society, journalists, employees and associates of the company.

During the event, Principia's CEO, Aristotelis Chantavas, stated: "Today is an important milestone for us and for Western Macedonia. "Perasma" substantially strengthens the national effort for a just energy transition, and I am proud that Principia is at the forefront of this change. We believe that lignite phase-out is not just an obligation, but an opportunity for a socially just and environmentally responsible future. " Perasma " is exactly that: a passage from lignite to sustainable energy. We thank those who worked to make it happen and we are committed to continuing with the same responsibility and dedication."

A sustainable project

The "Perasma" Solar Cluster generates approximately 126.8 GWh of electricity annually, capable of meeting the needs of 36,000 households. This will help avoid 72,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year, enhancing the environmental sustainability of the area. The total installed solar panels in the cluster exceeded 170,000 units.

For the connection of the parks, we constructed a modern Ultra-High Voltage Substation, of GIS type (400 kV), for which more than 130 kilometers of medium voltage cable were used.

The construction of the cluster followed the "Sustainable Construction Site" model, applying best practices to minimize environmental impact. Indicatively, the energy consumed at the construction site came exclusively from solar panels, while measures were taken to safeguard the livestock farming activities of the area, creating passages to facilitate the grazing of animals in the wider area of the project.

Side by side with the local community

We carried out a number of substantial, symbolic social initiatives. Indicatively, the following are some of the more than 35 actions that we implemented in collaboration with the Presidents of the Communities of Mavrodendri and Sidera:

The road to the green transition

We continue to invest in renewable energy projects in Greece, with the aim of enhancing the country's sustainable development and energy independence. The "Perasma" Solar Cluster is a typical example of this strategy, combining technological innovation with social responsibility and cooperation with local communities.
