Our first Sustainability Statement outlines our strategic approach to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance issues, for a greener future
2024 was a milestone for Principia. We published our first Sustainability Statement, which is fully aligned with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and highlights our strategic approach to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance issues. We are proud to clearly and transparently demonstrate our commitment to progress, innovation and responsible development.

Principia's CEO, Aristotelis Chantavas, said: "Sustainability for Principia is not a trend – it's a commitment. Our first Sustainability Statement clearly captures our ambition: to lead the energy transition with responsibility, innovation and a real impact on people's lives. We are here to create value – for society, the environment and future generations."
Here are our significant performances in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance issues.
Environment
The heart of our activity is the production of clean energy, with 66 RES projects and a total capacity of 577 MW. In 2024, more than 1,133 GWh of electricity was produced, capable of meeting the needs of hundreds of thousands of households. At the same time, we completed the construction of the Perasma Solar Cluster with a total capacity of 95 MW in Western Macedonia and started the development of our first energy storage project (BESS), in Chalkidiki.
Our energy efficiency is constantly improving:
- Energy consumption: 7,182 MWh
- Energy intensity: 43
- GHG (location-based) emission intensity: 19
- Scope 1 emissions: 340 tCO₂eq
- Scope 2 emissions: 1,970 tCO₂eq
Our commitment to net-zero operation by 2040 is based on a targeted reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the integration of Scope 3 emissions. At the same time, we implement biodiversity protection actions in all our projects, while the construction and operation of our parks are harmonized with rigorous environmental studies. It is noteworthy that no pollutants were recorded in 2024 on land, water or air - a clear indication of our responsible and sustainable operation.
