The program “Love Can Save Lives” was designed to inform, engage, and encourage reflection on a topic that directly concerns human life, solidarity, and collective responsibility. Through targeted actions and internal communication, we sought to move beyond statistics and address the emotional, ethical, and social dimensions of organ donation, fostering a culture of empathy, informed choice, and social awareness.

Voices That Made the Message Real

During Principia Summit 2025, our all-day corporate event, we created a dedicated section to focus on organ donation. The segment featured an honest and deeply moving discussion with Sandy Lenti, a heart transplant recipient, alongside an insightful presentation by the Hellenic Transplant Organization. Sandy shared her personal journey, offering a powerful, human perspective on what transplantation truly represents: life, resilience, and second chances.

Additionally, the Hellenic Transplant Organization provided clear, data-driven insights into how the transplant system operates in Greece, addressing common misconceptions and highlighting the importance of informed consent. Together, these contributions transformed awareness into understanding, creating a moment of reflection that resonated strongly with participants.

The Importance of Transplantation in Greece

Organ transplantation remains a critical yet under-addressed issue in Greece. Despite the country’s strong medical expertise and specialized transplant centers, donation rates remain among the lowest in Europe.

Each year, hundreds of patients remain on waiting lists for life-saving transplants, while many do not receive organs in time. The gap between available donors and patients in need underscores the importance of sustained public awareness. Increasing knowledge and open discussion around organ donation is widely recognized as one of the most effective ways to improve donation rates and ultimately save lives.

Measurable Impact and Lasting Commitment

The impact of the Love Can Save Lives campaign was reflected in measurable results. According to a survey conducted following the completion of the initiative, the percentage of participants willing to consider becoming organ donors increased by 10%. This outcome confirms the power of informed dialogue and personal storytelling in shaping attitudes. Through this initiative, we strengthened our commitment to social responsibility and to supporting actions that protect human life and create lasting positive change.
