At Principia, we were awarded a Platinum Award in the National Corporate Responsibility Index CR Index 2026, confirming the rigorous integration of sustainable development and ESG principles into our strategy and activity.
The distinction was awarded in the context of the CR Index Awards, organized by the Corporate Responsibility Institute. The CR Index, the first National ESG Index in Greece, has been evaluating the performance of businesses based on international ESG criteria since 2008 and is an important tool for evaluation and continuous improvement. Through this process, the participating companies reflect their performance, identify areas for further development and compare their progress with international standards and best practices.
This year's distinction is a continuation of a steady course of development. In 2023, as Enel Green Power Hellas, we were distinguished with a Silver Award and the Special Commendation of Best New Entry, while in 2024 we received a Gold Award and a special commendation in the "Environmental" pillar. This year's upgrade to a Platinum Award reflects the continuous progress we have achieved in integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operation.
Creating value for society and the environment
Our approach to sustainable development is based on the belief that business development is directly linked to creating meaningful value for society, the environment and our people. For this reason, ESG principles are an integral part of our business planning, risk management, investment decisions and the day-to-day operation of the company.
In the environmental pillar, we continue to invest in the development of renewable energy and energy storage projects, contributing to the energy transition and the achievement of national and European climate goals. At the same time, we implement initiatives for the protection and restoration of the natural environment, such as the 660-acre reforestation program of Kastanologgos in South Evia, the creation of a Bird Feeding Station at our Agios Kyrillos wind farm in Crete for the protection of birds of prey, our collaboration with the environmental organization TYTO for the protection of biodiversity, as well as circular economy actions, giving new life to materials and equipment through projects with a social and environmental footprint.
In the social pillar, we continue to support the local communities in which we operate through a broad program of initiatives. Among them, the award-winning corporate volunteering program Be The Hero, the Educational Program "Energy on the Go", the support towards the student groups "Prometheus" and "Aiolos NTUA" of the National Technical University of Athens, the vocational guidance actions in various Universities of the country, the financing of the creation of the new Artificial Kidney Unit in Diokleion General Hospital of Karystos, the information and awareness-raising actions on organ donation, the book donations to schools and libraries, and our participation in Greece Race for the Cure. At the same time, we support for the sixth consecutive year the Paralympic table tennis athlete Giorgos Mouchtis, while strengthening local sport through sponsorships to sports clubs and events in the areas where we operate.
In the pillar of governance, we have developed a comprehensive framework of policies and procedures covering business ethics, human rights, diversity and inclusion through our internal EveryOne Is Here team, anti-corruption, as well as responsible supply chain management. At the same time, we integrate ESG principles into decision-making through Double Materiality Assessment processes.
Sustainability Statement 2025
An important milestone in our journey is the Sustainability Statement 2025, which was drafted in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and clearly reflects our progress in the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance pillars. The report presents the material impacts, risks and opportunities associated with our activity, as well as the policies, the goals and indicators by which we monitor our performance. At the same time, it enhances transparency and responsible information to employees, investors, local communities, partners and all interested parties.
The distinction with a Platinum Award in the CR Index 2026 , as well as our inclusion in the FT1000: Europe's Fastest Growing Companies list confirm that responsible growth, business resilience and sustainability are integral to Principia's growth strategy. Consistent in our commitments, we continue to invest in a low-carbon energy system, creating steady value for people local communities, the environment and the Greek economy.
